December 05, 2003Warning: This Knitting has been Pre-emptedNot a lot of knitting time in the last few days. Here's why.
At last night's concert, Marcus Roberts, an old friend of Wynton Marsalis, played one of the piano solos, and Wynton and Marcus played "Embraceable You" as an encore for the performance. It was probably 15 or 20 magical minutes of watching incredible musicians -- Wynton laughed and "mm"ed and "mmph"ed when Marcus did something clever, funny, or stupendous -- from the best seats in the hall: on stage along with these masters. No concert or rehearsal tonight, though, so I get to go hang out and knit at a friend's craft night. I have managed to start a swatch for the lingerie, and I'll get to see its recipient on Saturday (it's a post-wedding, bridal-shower gift), so we'll take measurements and start to talk color!
