Mom finished projects...

...and I keep knitting in the round.

Michelle's Jacket

My mom made this fabulous jacket for my sister. She wanted a something that would be stylish and keep her warm in her office. This is from Lana Grossa Filati book #28, done in the original yarns but different colors. The main color is Favola and the variagated color is Tender. She made the middle size and used 10 or 11 balss of Favola and 4 or 5 of Tender. (I'm on the right, admiring.) Michelle found some great pewter buttons that look really great. I think it would be even more fabulous with some big, shiny, glass buttons, but the're hard to come by. My mom has the goods, if you're interested (you'll have to email for details).

Sockapalooza

This is mom's sock for the Sockapallooza sock exchange run by Alison at the blue blog. (Click on it to see the detailed version.) Who will get them? It's a big secret! Even I don't know! (Ok, she told me, but I forgot.)

I don't have all the stats on the yarn. The pattern is an original, especially for the Sockapalooza, with a motif from "1000 Great Knitting Motifs" (also available from theknitter but not on the website yet). We think these socks are awfully cute, and we hope she will, too.

Stockinette and stockinette and stockinette...
I'm still knitting in the round. I need to graft the toe that will finish off another pair of socks and get ahold of the camera to photograph them. The yarn cabinet is full and looks gorgeous. I started a pair of mitered square socks (not stockinette, but still no purling!) that aren't class-knittable, but are good for the bus, and I'll throw those up here when I get a chance.

That jacket looks great! The picture's a little dark, but I remember the jacket from that catalog. Your mom sure is a great knitter. And she picks such great projects too. The sockapalooza sock is beautiful. That's one lucky sock pal you got there, Judy!

And PS, I've seen several blog mentions of happy customers! Hooray for The Knitter! :)
