Time to do fun stuff again

Aaah, it's been so nice to relax again after passing my oral exam. I'm working on some stuff that's not picture-worthy yet (a sweater in a part-camel yarn, 4x4 rib with 4 st cables in the rib, did the fancy cable part and then had to rip it out, so not much to look at yet; sock of the month testing for my mom, so that's a surprise; a baby sweater for a shower on Saturday that so far is just a rectangle...)

And so that I actually get something posted, I'll just throw up these pictures and hope to talk more about them later...

Hats for an orphanage in Kazakhstan where friends are adopting a baby:

and fiber I bought at Lambspun before said friends went to Kazakhstan (that's all of the blue (about 2 oz, 80/20 wool/silk; I bought 4 oz at Estes last summer and photographed a little sample of that) and red (about 4 oz, alpaca/silk/something else), but I have 1.5 lb of the purple (70/30 mohair silk) that spins up very fine, mmmm.

Totally cute hats; and wow - awesome colors on the roving. I'm in roving envy. Maybe I should go up to Lambspun on Friday with my mom this week (unless you really bought all the good stuff)? Hmm... the possibilities. :)
